Preheat a skillet in your oven at 400°F/200°C, Season the steaks with oil, salt, and pepper. Remove the skillet from the oven once pre-heated.

Put the skillet on your stove top burner on medium heat and drizzle in the oil.

Sear the steak for 1-4 minutes, depending on if you like it rare, medium, or well done.

Turn over the steak and place it in your oven for 6 minutes.

Take out the steak from your oven and place it back on the stove top on low heat.

Toss in the butter and thyme and cook for 3 minutes, basting as you go along.
